I started thinking about what I wanted to look at within fashion, I wanted to keep it to do with nature as that is what I enjoy the most and would spend time on. When searching for natural forms to start the ball rolling I came across Plant cell cross sections under a microscope and thought they were the most beautiful an delicate things.
I looked more into these cells and got a book from the library all about them. I loved how colourful they were with the dyes in the, and how interesting the shapes were. There was so many different ones to look at as well and I could really see itself lending well to textiles with the colours and patterns.
Creating a moodboard of images from the internet and social media I started to look at how I could draw my interpretation of these cells myself and what I thought was best. Although I love to work in watercolour I was concerned that these were too delicate and precise to do with my normal technique but for this project I really wanted to experiment with things I hadn't done before and use my university experience.
